Intro to sailing

Test the Waters

Sailing involves both specific knowledge and skills. Beginner courses are a great way to learn about sailing for fun, or to find out if you might want to go on to the advanced levels of instruction. Our captains/instructors provide beginner sailors the perfect opportunity to test the waters, and the ropes, and the sails, and the stern!

Intro to Sailing: If you’ve ever wanted to give sailing a try, but didn’t know where to start, this is the opportunity you’ve been looking for.  With just a minimum of two people, we can introduce you to the basics of sailing in one of our 21′ or 22′ Hunter sailboats.  In just two hours you’ll gain the basic knowledge you need to help you decide if sailing is your new passion!

Learn the Ropes: Designed for beginners, or those who have some sailing experience and desire a refresher to hone their skills, the Learn The Ropes sail is a great way “dip your toe in the water” and further your sailing skills without the pressure of a formal class.  Your instructor will chat with you at the beginning of your sail to find out the skills or techniques on which you want to work.  The sail takes place on one of our new Jeanneau 349 monohull sailing vessels.  While you will learn a great deal from our experienced captains, no certification is awarded for this training. The course can be customized as a 2-, 4-, or 8-hour experience.

Beginner Instruction is available on local St. Augustine waterways by USCG licensed Captains/Instructors.
