Ladybug Race Event

1st Annual Ladybug Race

St. Augustine Sailing is introducing a new sailing event that promises to bring together the boating community from near and far to celebrate all things sailing. Their inaugural Ladybug Race sets sail on Sunday, April 28, 2024 from the Camachee Cove Marina, just at the base of the Vilano Bridge in St. Augustine, Florida. But don’t let the name fool you – it’s much more than a race. The day will be filled with activities featuring educational workshops, yacht sales, and an awards dinner. It’s an event designed for all sailors, from dreamers to seasoned captains.

The racecourse will take captains and crew out of the marina and north up the Tolomato River, where boats will deftly combat the wind, tide, and each other. For spectators, it will be a chance to see technical maneuvering, teamwork, and skill. St. Augustine Sailing is also organizing educational seminars that cover various topics like line handling, marine weather forecasting, and diesel 101. All Points Yacht Sales will showcase top-of-the-line yachts from Jeanneau and Lagoon. Guests can take tours, purchase their dream boat, or become a SailTime member.

We believe that sailing is for everyone! Proceeds from the Ladybug Race will benefit the Women on the Water program, providing sailing skills, practical experience, and confidence to women of all ages and sailing abilities.

The day wraps up with an awards dinner sponsored by Outer Banks Boil Company, to celebrate the race and recognize winners. Racers, sponsors, and guests are all invited to participate in the celebration.
