Join us from April 18-20, 2025, for the Second Annual Ladybug Race Event, hosted by St. Augustine Sailing—an exhilarating celebration of our local sailing community and a must-attend event for racing aficionados. Whether you’re a seasoned sailor or a newcomer eager to learn the ropes, this weekend promises to deliver thrilling competition, immersive workshops, and a chance to be part of a vibrant sailing culture.

We believe that sailing is for everyone, and we’re passionate about making it accessible to all! Proceeds from the Ladybug Race will benefit the Women on the Water (WOW) program, which offers women of all ages and sailing abilities the opportunity to gain essential sailing skills. Through hands-on training and practical experience, WOW helps build confidence on the water, empowering women to pursue their sailing dreams and connect with a supportive community. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, the WOW program is designed to nurture and grow your love for sailing in a fun and encouraging environment.

Race Highlights

Over the course of three days, captains and crew will compete in a series of class races along the Tolomato River, showcasing their sailing skills and vying for the championship title. The weekend kicks off with the small vessel race (under 30 feet) on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 12:30 PM. On Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 1:30 PM, the cruising class will take to the water, followed by the performance class on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at 2:30 PM. Each race will challenge participants to navigate wind and tides with precision and teamwork.

Open to All - No Boat Necessary!

Don’t own a boat? No problem! You can still get in on the action by joining one of St. Augustine Sailing’s popular membership programs. Whether it’s our Crew Program or WOW! (Women on the Water) program, you’ll have the opportunity to crew on one of our vessels and experience the thrill of racing firsthand.

VIP Spectator and On-the-Water Viewing

For those who prefer to spectate, we’re offering exclusive VIP spectator views, with prime seating aboard the committee boat, as well as on-the-water viewing packages for an even closer look at the races. This is a unique chance to watch the action unfold from the best vantage points.

The weekend culminates with an elegant awards dinner on Sunday evening, a highlight of the event that brings together participants, spectators, and organizers to celebrate the thrilling races. The atmosphere is filled with excitement as awards are presented to recognize outstanding performances on the water. Beyond the accolades, the dinner provides a warm and welcoming setting for everyone to share stories of their sailing adventures, reflecting on both challenges and triumphs. It’s also an ideal opportunity for forging new friendships and deepening connections within the sailing community, as like-minded individuals come together over good food, laughter, and a shared passion for the sport.
