Ken began sailing at the ripe age of 7 years old. He became a competitive racer in his twenties and won the Greers Ferry Lake Yacht Club (GFLYC) Winter Racing Series three years in a row in the spinnaker class. He learned to sail with his family on small boats in Arkansas before moving to Florida as a young adult. Ken has owned 13 sailboats in his adult lifetime from 28 up to 38 feet. He has sailed the entire coastline of Florida and much of the Caribbean. In 1999 Ken participated in the “Havana Cup” race from St. Petersburg, Florida to Havana, Cuba aboard his Island Packet 38, Moonpie.

Ken holds a 50 Ton US Coast Guard Masters License with a Sailing Endorsement. He enjoys sharing what has been a lifelong passion for him and his family with others in the St. Augustine area. In addition to sailing, Ken is a storyteller and musician. He plays and sings with various local bands in the area. He also enjoys fishing, diving and traveling.
