SPONSOR THE INAUGURAL LADYBUG RACE EVENT!

Meet your sailing community at the first annual premier sailing event in St Augustine.

Sailing is an adventurous, beautiful way to experience the outdoors and life on the water. And for the family behind St. Augustine Sailing, it can be a lifestyle and skill for anyone and everyone. This spring, the St. Augustine Sailing family invite you to celebrate all things sailing at the inaugural Ladybug Race! On Sunday, April 28, 2024, the sailing community from near and far will come together for a sailing race, educational workshops, yacht tours and sales and an awards dinner to celebrate the winners. The Ladybug Race is so much more than a competition on the water — it’s for every boater, whether you’re a seasoned Captain or admirer from the shore.

Let’s come together to not only compete in the race but also to share the thrill of sailing with a community that values the freedom and adventure found on the water. It’s not just about winning; it’s about fostering a spirit of camaraderie, encouraging each other, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. See you on Sunday, April 28, 2024, for a day filled with the beauty of sailing and the empowerment it brings to all who embrace it.

INSPIRING AND SUPPORTING WOMEN

Race day begins by setting sail from Camachee Cove Marina, at the foot of the Vilano Bridge in St. Augustine, Florida. The racecourse will take boaters north up the Tolomato River, where captains and their crew will compete in Cruising and Performance classes. And everyone is equal in this race! No handicaps will be given based on gender, however there will be a race within the race for an all-female crew to win the beloved Ladybug Trophy.

For Rose Ann Points, owner, Captain and broker at St. Augustine Sailing, inspiring and supporting women is a crucial component to her mission in this race and in her business. “Sailing is for everyone!” Points shares enthusiastically. “When we purchased St. Augustine Sailing, we knew we wanted to be more than boats. We wanted to foster a really active, supportive and fun sailing community.” And the Ladybug Race will do exactly that. Proceeds from this race will benefit the Women on the Water (WOW!) program, which provides sailing skills, practical experience and confidence to women of all ages and sailing abilities.

FULL DAY OF ACTIVITIES FOR THE LADYBUG RACE EVENT

The full day of activities also includes educational workshops and seminars, from line handling, marine weather forecasting and diesel 101 to teaching you how to make your boat a comfortable home, how to plan the perfect provisions for any journey and mastering the art of dinghy and outboard management (and so many more). Ladybug guests can also tour or purchase their dream boats! All Points Yacht Sales will be on hand to showcase top-of-the-line yachts from Jeanneau and Lagoon. Brokers are invited to display their current commissions as well. To end the day, everyone is invited to celebrate the race and winners at a fabulous dinner, where captains, crew, vendors, instructors and sponsors can relax together and bask in their day of happy sailing and camaraderie.
