FSDB-Sailing-Day

Rose Ann and Chuck Points, owner of St Augustine Sailing Enterprise, Inc and their many other local sailing enthusiast businesses, will host students from the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSBD) with on-board time on the water, a sailing and on-site classroom schedule, discussion groups, and demonstrations. In June, the sailing company hosted students from the school’s Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) Summer Academy for nine-year-old through 16-year-old students who are blind/visually impaired, deaf/hard of hearing, or deaf/blind students.

The November program is part of the FSBD elementary and middle school access point students from ages nine through 16who are blind/visually impaired, deaf/hard of hearing or deaf/blind students. They attend school at 207 North San Marco Avenue in St Augustine. Activities are designed to provide students with an opportunity to access education services and experiences in a caring, safe and unique learning environment to prepare them to be literate, employable and independent lifelong learners.
