Pura Vida is no stranger to sailing the Caribbean! Formerly known as Head Over Keels, she was lovingly taken cared  and pulled out every year and stored with a full vessel enclosure to protect it from the weather.  During the cruising season, the owner lived aboard and traveled throughout Florida, Bahamas and occasionally further South.

Head Over Heels was sold to its new owner back in 2019 where they named her Pura Vida.  But for some reason, never changed the name on the boat.    However, she has been maintained with love. With solar panel, water maker, in-mast, and all lines running to the cockpit she is a great choice for single handing.

If you’re looking for a reliable and well-maintained boat that’s ready for new adventures, “Pura Vida” is an excellent choice.

LAYOUT

First and foremost, the Beneteau 393 is roomy. You can’t help but notice the legroom, elbow room, generous seat backs, and open space in the cockpit. The walk-through coaming aft creates a good combination of openness and security.

Descending the companionway steps from the spacious cockpit you notice right-away she’s also roomy below. Headroom in the after part of the saloon approaches 6′ 6″. Light adds to the open feel, thanks mostly to the three overhead deck-windows (which come with sunshades).

Pura Vida is a  2 cabin version and has a cherry-trimmed finish with  details like pullout blinds, full-length handrails, and a practical head compartment in the forepeak. The cabin has a U-shaped settee to port with a centerline seat. There is storage in corner lockers and under the settee. The table, which lowers to converts to a double berth, is to port, with an entertainment console and large storage area to starboard. The area is flooded with natural light from the above hatches and port lights.

The galley is well-equipped for cruising, featuring double stainless steel sinks, a two-burner stove, oven, microwave, and a 12-volt refrigerator which is both top and front loading.

The forward cabin is spacious and features a comfortable dressing seat opposite the berth and a large hanging locker.  There are also full length shelves above the berth to port and good ventilation with two hatches.  The head compartment, located in the forward peak, is completely molded and includes a shower and overhead Lewmar hatch.

The aft cabin is the full beam

CONSTRUCTION

The Beneteau 393 is crafted at Beneteau’s South Carolina plant with solid fiberglass hulls, balsa-cored decks, and a structural inner grid. The deck work features molded nonskid patterns, soft curves, and a sleek coachroof.

The Beneteau 393 is built for easy sail handling and Pura Vida is no exception, with a standard roller-furled mainsail, a 140-percent headsail and 4 Lewmar winches for efficient trimming. The cockpit is comfortable with features like a leather-trimmed wheel, a drop-leaf cockpit table, and a large lazerette to port.

MAST & RIGGING

Mast and Rigging

The anodized aluminum mast has double, swept-back spreaders and twin backstays.

All lines run to the cockpit for ease of use.

The roller-fuller drum for the genoa is mounted above deck which is more practical for maintenance.
